ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Carl Laemmle, Jr. (1908 -1979) son of Carl Laemmle who founded Universal Pictures in 1912.

As an executive producer at Universal some of his credits include: FRANKENSTEIN and DRACULA.

NOTES & TRIVA

Made from Erich Maria Remarque's great anti-war novel and is still regarded as one of the best anti-war films ever made.

The sequel is titled: THE ROAD BACK and also remade for television in 1979.

The film gave an big boost to the careers of Lew Ayres, Louis Wolheim, and Slim Summerville.
