12 Monkeys (1995) - R
The Year is 2035; almost 40 years after a lethal virus killed over 5 billion people forcing the remaining 1% of the human race to live underground. James Cole, a local convict, volunteers to travel back to the year of the endemic, 1996, and gather information about the virus and its purported origin, an army of twelve monkeys. Rather than the year 1996, Cole is sent to 1990 where a slew of events prompt his incarceration in a mental institution where he meets the curious Dr. Railly, and Jeffrey Goines, the psychopath with a viral scientist for a father. With a following sequence of time traveling, kidnappings, love affairs, and strange friendships, Cole is sent on a whirlwind chase where the ending lends him witness to his own death. The cast includes: Bruce Willis, Brad Pitt, Madeline Stowe, John Seda, Simon Jones, David Morse, Carol Florence, Frederick Strother, Christopher Plummer, Lee Golden, Joseph McKenna, Frank Gorshin, and Harry O'Toole.
