The Night of the Hunter
(1955)
After committing murder for a bounty of $10,000, Ben Harper relies on his 'safe spot' and his loyal children to protect the whereabouts of his treasure. While on death row in prison, Harper is celled with 'The Preacher' who discovers Harper's dirty deed and heads to the Harper home upon release to look for the blood-money. Charming Harper's wife Willa along the way, the Preacher moves into the Harper home to set about hunting for the coveted treasure. But unless someone spills the beans 'The Preacher' may just resort to hunting down the Harpers first. The cast includes: Shelley Winters, Robert Mitchum, James Gleason, Lillian Gish, Peter Graves, Evelyn Varden, Billy Chapin, Don Beddoe, Sally Jane Bruce, and Gloria Castillo.
