THE MATRIX (1999)

This action-packed, science fiction adventure yarn with terrific special effects tells the story of computer programmer Thomas Anderson, whose life changes dramatically from ordinary citizen with an illegal hacking business to a freedom fighter, just a hop, skip and a jump ahead of computer-generated police, after he is contacted by a woman, Trinity.  Through Trinity,Thomas Anderson gets involved with a group of rebels, led by Morpheus, who frees him from a fake, artificially created world, called "The Matrix," established by dominating, intelligent machinery, who harvest the energy created by enslaved, unaware humanity. Anderson eventually learns  and accepts what he is destined to be.

The cast includes: Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss, Hugo Weaving, and Joe Pantoliano.
