In Medieval Japan, a desparate village hires 7 unemployed Samurai warriors to protect their crops and livelihood from marauding, life-threatening bullies who periodically terrorize them and rob their village.

The cast includes: Toshiro Mifune, Takashi Shimura, Keiko Tsushima, Yukiko Shimazaki, Kamatari Fujiwara, Daisuke Kato, Isao Kimura, Minoru Chiaki, Seiji Miyaguchi, Yoshio Kosugi, Bokuzen Hidari, and Yoshio Inaba.
