PLOT SUMMARY... The Enterprise beams a space probe aboard which wants to
destroy all imperfect life forms.
QUICK SCAN... This episode features a prime example of Kirk's ongoing man
vs machine conflicts. This episode has a lot in common with "Star
Trek: The Motion Picture". The Changeling probe is rather
unsteadily supported by wires. Kirk gets plenty of opportunities
to give speeches. In debating with the probe, Kirk uses logic
so well that even Mr. Spock is impressed.
SYNOPSIS...
The Enterprise encounters a probe in space. It's beamed aboard.
The robot probe is on a mission to destroy imperfect life forms.
It mistakes Kirk, for its creator, Jackson Roykirk. The probe
wants to go to Earth and destroy all the imperfect life forms
there.
Kirk uses logic to prove that the probe is imperfect for mistaking
him for Roykirk. The probe self destructs.
