When Kirk and company arrive at the planet Ekos, they find a world patterned after Nazi Germany.

This episode features a fascinating allegorical look at Nazi Germany, in a Sci-Fi seting. Mr. Spock looks particularly striking in his Nazi uniform. Skip Homeier, who later played the insane Dr. Sevrin in the infamous "The Way to Eden" Trek episode, delivers a credible performance as Melakon, a power hungry, Nazi imitating alien.

SYNOPSIS...
The Enterprise shows up at a planet, looking for a missing professor. A nuclear missile is launched at them.

On the planet's surface, Kirk and gang find a society just like Nazi, Germany. Federation Professor Gill is apparently responsible.

Kirk and company get to Gill, who renounces the current government on television, then is killed. The planet's society is returned to normal.
