This episode features excellent NASA footage of Cape Kennedy. The original script for "Assignment: Earth" was supposed to be the pilot for a planned spinoff series, which didn't sell. Robert Lansing ("Kung Fu", syndicated) is fascinating as Gary Seven, an Earthman raised on another planet by aliens. Teri Garr ("Tootsie") is entertainingly dippy as Roberta Lincoln.

SYNOPSIS...
The Enterprise time travels back to the '60s. Soon they encounter Gary Seven, a man born on Earth but raised by aliens.

Disguised as Earth people of the 60's, Kirk and Spock beam down. They pursue Mr. Seven, encountering his secretary and cat in the process. Mr. Seven seems determined to cause the crash of a rocket with nuclear weapons aboard.

Kirk and gang attempt to prevent Seven's seemingly awful goal. Following Seven, Kirk and Spock end up at the U.S. Space Center. Gary Seven turns out to be trying to prevent World War Three, not start it. Kirk lets Seven complete his mission.
