PLOT SUMMARY...
Kirk and company arrive at the planet Pyris Vll, where they encounter witches, warlocks, and a giant black cat.

QUICK SCAN...
This episode features tongue and cheek alien/human contact. This was Trek's Halloween episode, and it provides equal portions of tricks and treats. Theo Marcuse ("The Man from UNCLE") and Antoinette Bower ("Thriller") provided colorful supporting performances as aliens Korob and Sylvia. FX scenes with a giant cat are awkward. The script was written by Robert Bloch, who also wrote "Psycho".

SYNOPSIS...
The Enterprise travels to an alien world never visited before. On the planet they meet Korob and Sylvia, who seem to have magical powers.

Sulu and McCoy succumb to Sylvia's powers, becoming her slaves. Spock, being Vulcan, is unaffected by the alien's supernatural powers

Kirk and gang discover the source of the alien's power and destroy it. The aliens turn out to be not human-like at all, but small, plant-like creatures.
